Rosemary Stewart 69, died peacefully January 2, 2017. She was born to the late William Stewart and Persie Johnson Stewart on September 6, 1947. Rosemary attended Columbus City Schools and was a proud member of the East High School graduating class of 1965. She went on to earn her BA in Business Administration from Central State University and was forever proud of the Master of Fine Arts Degree she earned from Yale University in 1972. After graduation she set her sights on New York where she spent time on stages, both large and small. Rosemary returned to Columbus to perform the most important role she would ever be given as mother to her only child, Nicole. Rosemary found great happiness in insignificant details. She danced to the rhythm of her own music without concerning herself with if others could hear the melody. Whatever the topic, from foreign policies to rap music, she was able to hold her own in the discussion. She could make you laugh effortlessly. If she told you she loved you, she meant it. She loved God and thanked him for his faithfulness daily. Rosemary is survived by daughter Nicole (Toby Rushing), granddaughter London Rose, nephew David (Leetina) Stewart and a host of other family and friends. She was preceeded in death by her parents and brothers David and Karl. “You have one shot at this thing called life. This ain’t a rehearsal! Do something that scares the mess outta me? Bet you I would!” (Rosemary Stewart)
