The grace of God moved and carried Rosie B. Brooks from labor to reward on February 16, 2022 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Rosie was born on September 22, 1935 in Crawford, Mississippi. She is preceded in death by her parents, John W. and Lue Eather Baker; her sister, Emma Baker; and brothers, Sylvester, Ben, and Eugene Willis. Rosie relocated to Columbus, Ohio early in life and attended Columbus Public Schools, and the Trinity Baptist Church. She was an STNA employed at St. Rita's Nursing Home, Grant Hospital, and Westminster Thurber. Rosie thoroughly enjoyed work with seniors and retired after a serious accident left her disabled. Rosie was the beloved mother of Janie Brooks-Cole (Harry) and Diane Brooks. She was a devoted grandmother to Shevette Brooks-Davis (Rick) of Oakwood Village, Ohio and Brandon Cole of St. Petersburg, Florida. She was the cherished great-grandmother of Ciera and Ashley Davis of Oakwood Village, Ohio. She was the sister-in-law of Dorothy Sykes (William) of Riverdale, Illinois, Annie McCray of Oaklawn, Illinois, Santiana Ervin (Willie) of Memphis, Tennessee, Earnestine Ray of Medina, Tennessee, and Hannah Brooks of Chicago, Illinois. Brothers-in-law, James Brooks of Country Club Hills, Illinois and Sammie Brooks of Tupelo, Mississippi. She leaves a host of family and friends to cherish her memory. Rosie loved to fish and she was a wonderful cook. She always made sure that everyone had more than enough to eat. No one ever left her home hungry. She loved and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the center of her life; they could do no wrong.
