Roy Fowler

October 19, 1944 — September 8, 2021

Roy Fowler was born October 19th, 1944 to his beloved parents the late Willie and Conealie Fowler. Roy accepted Christ and was baptized at Tabernacle Baptist Church by the late pastor Odell Waller. Roy graduated from East High School, class of 1963. In 1966, he married his childhood sweetheart Dolores (Banks) Fowler and of that union produced three lovely children, Rhonda Denise, Troy DeMarques, and Michael DeShawn Fowler. This marriage was truly a marriage of love that lasted 55 plus years. Roy loved life and always had a passion for sharing the humor of life with those around him. He loved working in the yard with his beautiful roses and impatience flowers. He’d love to keep cars polished and shiny and love watching wrestling. Roy would rather cook a meal than go out for dinner and as his wife, I made good of the offer. Roy’s greatest love was simply being with his family. Roy Fowler lived his life as a dedicated husband, loving father, and proud Grandfather. He set an exemplary example by living a good family life. He was that family man who loved his wife dearly, his children, and his grandchildren. A good provider and was a dedicated worker who stayed on the job for over 32 years at the Timkein company. He gave us a wonderful foundation by teaching us many of life’s lessons that still sustain us to this day; be kind to others; always watch out for your family, be honest and true, be independent and strong. Plus, we could always count on his advice because he would tell us exactly how it was. God gave us an extraordinary blessing at birth by gracing us with such a caring husband, father, and Grandfather. Although we are deeply despaired that we have lost him so soon, we also have to remember that we were honored to have him for the time that we did. Time may end, life does end, but our love for him will never end. Preceding in death were parents, Willie Fowler and Conealie (Leslie) Fowler, his brothers Edward Joe Fowler, JC Fowler, and Roy’s youngest son Michael D Fowler. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Dolores, daughter Rhonda, and son Troy (Tasha) Fowler, sister Mildred Clairdy, grandchildren Tre’Quan Fowler, Robert Kimball Jr., Troy Fowler Jr., and bonus grandson Robert Booker. A host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
