Russell Morgan was born November 18, 1942 to Johnnie Mae Borom and the late James France, in Lee County Alabama. Sergeant Morgan departed this earthly home on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 7:30 am at Mount Carmel Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Russell was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, in Gary Indiana He played basketball, ran track and participate in various other school activities. Sergeant Russell Morgan served in the United States Air Force, Rickenbacker Air National Guard, and DEFAS, a total of 55 plus years for the Government of United States. Technical Sergeant Russell Morgan distinguished himself by meritorious service while assigned to the 160th services flight, Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base, Ohio, from March 1, 1993 to February 28, 1993. During this period, Sergeant Morgan was activated/deployed to Barksdale Air Force Air Force Base, Louisiana, as Backfill for active duty personnel that deployed to Operation Desert Storm from the base. Displaying his extensive supervisory experience, he assisted in the coordination of work schedules for all personnel assigned to the deployed kitchen during the units 1992 base recovery after attack training, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. The distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant Morgan reflect credit upon himself, the Air National Guard, and the United States Air Force. As God would have it, during his military career, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Marsha Miles on August 31, 1966 to this union one son was born, Russell T. Morgan. Trust in God, one of many scriptures to his liking, Psalms 34:1, 4, 6; I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth. I sought the Lord and He answered me and delivered me out of all my fears. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. Russell never missed his evening prayers for his family, mother, sister, and a host of people he loved so dearly. “Rut” (Russell) possessed the quality trait for being committed to whatever he believed in or set his heart to accomplish. Russell Morgan was like the good Samaritan mentioned in the Bible, Luke 10:25-37 (KJV), always doing good for others. He supported charitable organizations such as; St. Jude Children Hospital, Shriner Hospital, Wounded War Veterans, and numerous animal shelters. He also donated to ten other families’ welfare. Russell especially “loved” and care for his three Dobermans (Sir, Juan, and Kody). Russell leaves to cherish his memories; his Mother, Johnnie Mae Borom, Son, Russell Tyrone Morgan (Nicole), Sister, Lillie B. Toney, grandson, granddaughter and one great-grandson, Aunt, Ruth Morgan, Nephew, Dwayne A. Toney, First Cousin, Mattie Eiland, Special Nephew, Jonathan (Claudette), Special Friends, Pauline Williams, Gerry Sloane, Ronnie Akers, and a host of relatives and friends.
