SAEBAETHAE IYANQKAE SWIFT was born in Columbus, Ohio on Thursday, September 18, 1980. She was the daughter and first child of Bettye Swift and Richard Willis, Sr. She was a gorgeous baby with the brightest brown eyes. Saebaethae was affectionally called Sam by family and friends. SAM EXUDED LOVE. She could be loud and infectious or warm and understanding. She loved and fought her entire life. Sam was a rose born of concrete, more beautiful because of her strength and determination. Loyalty and legacy were tenets of her life. Her spirit was amazing. As a child, Sam was inquisitive, wise beyond her years, and eager to learn. She attended Columbus City Schools, including East High School. She later earned her GED. Sam enjoyed her youth and always found time for family and friends for she was fun, lively, and real. Sam was the best daughter, sister, cousin, and friend one could hope for. This young, strong woman was a soldier with a smile when God blessed her with a son, Armonie. To provide and give him a great life, Sam held various jobs, started businesses, and hustled hard. She earned various certifications in beauty aesthetics, medical, and personal care. She and her fiancé, Channing, devoted themselves to raising a good young man. They were phenomenally successful. Her greatest love and achievements are in Armonie. Saebaethae Iyanqkae Swift (y’all know better than calling her by her “government”) endured a long battle with cancer. She was a beautiful force of nature. Whatever she put her mind to accomplishing was as good as done. Sam, full of life and love, shared herself unselfishly. She lived a beautiful life of adversity, struggle, and accomplishments which molded her into the diamond she was. Sam’s most recent job was at a hospital and even in remission, she was concerned with caring for others - always giving. GONE TOO SOON . . . Our beloved Sam, age 40, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. She was preceded in death by her daughter/Angel Baby, Channa Ray Beller; grandmothers, Annie Pennye Swift and Barbara Willis; grandfathers, Walter A. Sims, and Danae Fiero-Wright; uncles, Anthony “Tony” Fiero, Clyde Willis, Sr., Martin Willis, Sr., and Ralph Willis, Sr.; and cousin, Lakisha Kelsor. SAM’S LEGACY OF LOVE is celebrated by her son, Armonie Swift; fiancé/soulmate, Channing Beller; mother, Bettye (Anthony) Swift Williamson; stepmother, Carla Martin; in-laws of Love, Linda and Steve Beller; great grandmother, Bettie Harris; honorary daughter, Adina McMillian; siblings, Monique Swift, Cieara Martin, Antoinette Williamson, Champaigne Mullins, Rakim Willis, Walter Williamson, Anthony (Tosha) Hayes, Malcolm Williamson, and Mr. Pooh; aunts and uncles, Gynae (Rubin) Hollins, William (Sharon) Link, Loeleatae (AC) Swift, Melvin (Gail) Link, Dino (Felicia) Willis, Wardell (Donna) Link, Teresa (Rick) Willis-Prince, Marlene Claytor, Robert Pope, Sr., and Waymond (Vera) Willis; close friends, Asia and Sheya Talley, Aja (Slay), and Drea Martin; goddaughter, Camasia; also an expansive family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
