Sallie Beulah Jordan was born January 1, 1933 to the Late Albert and Glenora Gooch. She spent the first years of her life in Ripley Tennessee.
She was married to the Late Rev. Robert S. Jordan, Sr. and served as First Lady of the Floral Baptist church in Massieville, Ohio for several years. She faithfully traveled every week to Massieville from their home in Columbus Ohio, where she resided for 68 years.
She took an early retirement after working with the State Mental Institution. She will be remembered as an inviting person to talk to and someone who always opened her home to our community. She doted on her children and centered her life around family.
After her husband’s passing, she united with Mt. Period Missionary Baptist Church on June 26, 2005, under the Pastorate of the Late Rev. J. Matthew Carter, Sr. She attended the Adult Sunday Church School and was a regular attendee of services.
She is preceded in death by Husband, Rev. Robert S. Jordan Sr.; Children, Danny Jordan and Glenora Jordan; Brothers, L.T. Gooch and Charles Gooch.
She leaves to cherish her memory, Children, Robert S. (Phyllis) Jordan, Jr., Sylvia Ann (Mike) Artis, Albert R. (Sheila) Jordan; Grandchildren, Michelle Artis, Maurice Artis, Daniel Jordan, Robert Jordan III, Jasmine (Isaac) Grayson, Isaiah Jordan, Aaron “Jay” (Maya) Jordan.
