Sallie Tarver

Sallie M. Tarver was born on July 5, 1934 in Sumter South Carolina. Sallie went home to glory on February 8, 2025 at the age of 90 years old. She resided in Columbus, Ohio for over 50 years. Sallie was a former long term member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her mother, Harriet Mcleod and father, Hayes Sanders of Sumter, South Carolina.

Sallie is preceded in death by 17 brothers and sister and she was the youngest child.

Surviving relatives are her children, Debbie Cummerlander, Leslie Tarver-Hackett both of Columbus, Ohio; Perry (Laurice) Tarver of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dr. Robert Cummerlander of Colorado; Dr. Raymond (Kristy) Cummerlander of Illinois, Teron (Davonne) Tarver of Pennsylvania, Mikia Tarver of Columbus, Ohio, Marlyce Tarver of Pennsylvania. Sallie also has two great grandchildren; twins, Dallas and Devin Tarver of Pennsylvania.

Sallie grew up in South Carolina with her father and older siblings on a farm. She received Christ at an early age and was baptized in the Rafting Creek River.

She was married at the age of 17 to Leslie E. Tarver an Airman and enjoyed her travels in the states and abroad.

Sallie truly loved her family and she enjoyed gardening, decorating her home and was an excellent cook! She also had quite a sense of humor!

She worked at various places in her life including daycares, The Neil House, The Heritage House and retired from Alum Crest Nursing Home (Regency Manor) after 30 years of service.

Our Mother, Grandmother, Friend will truly be missed, but we are comforted knowing that she is with the Lord!

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm with a Funeral Service immediately following. Burial to process to Franklin Hills Cemetery, Lithopolis, Ohio.
