Sally Redd

Sally Jesse Redd was born on February 26, 1932, to the late George Redd and Jeanette Jones in Mortonsville, Kentucky.

Sally was the eleventh of fourteen children. In her adult years she moved to Columbus, Ohio where she was a domestic worker. Later in

life she was able to secure employment with Children’s Services. Her final employment was at Riverside Methodist Hospital where she retired after many years of service. Sally was a longtime member of Refuge Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a part of the Senior Ministry. Even when her health began to decline she continued supporting the church financially when she was able.

She loved crocheting and was a sports fan of The Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Sally and her friend Marie loved cheating each other playing cards (LOL)! Sally participated in many senior activities throughout the community.

Sally was the last of her fourteen sibling and she shall be missed by all that were blessed to have known her.

Sally leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Regina R. Moore and Charlene M. Redd; sons, Daryl (Tomoko) Butler and Michael (Johnnetta) Curry, Sr.; 13 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a Funeral Service immediately following. Burial will follow in procession to East Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
