Samuel Moore, 98, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 10, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born on January 13, 1926, in Springfield, Ohio to the late Howard and Jessie Moore.
Samuel is preceded in death by sons, Rudolf Moore, Mark Anthony Moore, James Thomas Moore; brothers, James T. Moore, Nathaniel Moore, Phillip Moore, Davey Moore and sisters, Marian Jackson, Ester Moore.
Samuel is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joanna Moore; children, Carlotta Wilson, Marshall Thomas Moore; grandchildren, Trent (Kimberly) Moore, Andre Moore; daughter in law, Sherrie Moore; sisters in law, Geraldine Moore, Brenda Sowell and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Samuel served with mayor Tom Moody and the city of Columbus Sanitation Department as a Union Steward for AFSCME Local 1632. He was also an entrepreneur and photographer. Samuel loved fishing, playing card and traveling with his wife.
Samuel loved the Lord. He attended Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies for over 30 years. His religious mentor was Elder Jeff Watts.
