SHEILA DELORES WILLIAMS, known as Lorsie to family and friends, went home to be with the Lord, unexpectedly, on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. She was sixty-seven years of age. Sheila was born in Switchback, West Virginia, on Monday, August 9, 1954, to Thomas and Mary Lee Valentine and into the arms of her sister and first best friend, Lee Anna (Valentine) Humphrey. Early in her childhood, the family relocated to Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Mohawk High School in 1972. Sheila furthered her education at Columbus Technical Institute, earned a degree, and immediately began a long and fulfilling career at Ohio Education Association, where she continued to make a host of friends that she kept long after retirement. Sheila met Mr. Clarence Williams, her life partner, her love, her best friend, traveling companion, party host, and father of her son, Aaron Williams. Clarence and Sheila were married in December of 1990. Sheila was a devoted mother to her son, Aaron. From the moment he was born, she knew her assignment. She loved him with a kind of love and dedication that was admired and respected. Sheila was an absolute joy to be around. Her laugh will ring in our ears for years to come. She was highly intelligent. We often teased that she knew everything . . . She was correct. Sheila used everything she learned and became the go to when you needed something drafted, created, and perfected. She was always there for all her family and friends; and yes, there were many. However, Sheila always made time, especially late at night. In addition to being a wife and mother, Sheila was a grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and played so many roles for so many people. One thing that will never be disputed is she was a friend. Sheila had more best friends than fingers and toes, but the beauty of it all was, each of them would debate who was ‘her best.’ That speaks to how deeply and completely she loved. Every person she encountered left feeling special, heard, and validated. Sheila was a Deaconess and devoted servant to Apostles Eric and Carolyn Warren and Equippers City Church in Columbus, Ohio. Long after being physically unable to attend, she still did the church announcements, made calls to sick and shut-in, and was a phone call away whenever her administrative superpowers were needed. SHEILA DELORES WILLIAMS was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Valentine; son, Aaron Williams; stepsons, Brian Williams, Kevin M. Williams, and Christopher Taylor; grandson, Kevin “Baby Kev” Williams; and in-laws, William and Elizabeth Ruffin. Loving memories are treasured by her husband, Clarence Williams; sons and daughters, Terrance Williams, of Atlanta, Georgia, W. Deshawn Matthews, and Shermika Winebush of Princeton, West Virginia; bonus daughter, Essence White; grandchildren, A’hzia Williams, Brandi Taylor, Sabria (Tyrene) Taylor-Steans of Texas, Christopher and Chrystian Taylor, Marshon Williams, Ebony Williams, Ryan Waugh, O’dashia, Siyona, and Shanelle Winebush, all of West Virginia; sister, Lee Anna Humphrey; brothers-in-law, Curtis (Cathy) Williams and William (Theresa) Ruffin of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann (Beotis) Williams, Kathy Williams, and Shelby (Nate) Bowman; aunts, Maxine Ruffin of Texas and THE Odessa Lipscomb of Maybeury, West Virginia; many cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends; including special friends, Angela Curry, Estella Blake, Diana Copeland, Crystalle Phillips, and Ida Mae Williams.
