Sheldon Clark Porter, age 62, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 19, 2021. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 4, 1959, to the late Tom Sr. and Henrietta Patrick Porter. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Henrietta Porter and brothers Melvin Porter and Tom Porter, Jr. He is survived by his children Brandon Suber, Ebony Goodman, and Jereme Curry ; his sisters Hattie Porter, Delores (John) Porter-Patton and Barbara (Clarence) Holloway; sister-in-law Diane Porter; 7 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Sheldon was a north side legend who never met a stranger. Many of the neighbors and young people in the Linden community called him Uncle Sheldon, Sarge or Haney. He attended Columbus City Schools including Linmoor and Linden McKinley High School. Prior to his health challenges, Sheldon was a factory worker and a bartender. He also worked construction and was known to be a jack of all trades. In his prime, he played baseball, basketball and pool. Sheldon loved to party and have fun with his extended family and friends. He was always the life of the party, and kept everyone laughing. Sheldon was so proud to be the baby of his parent's seven children, and he would remind us that he was the baby on a regular basis. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him. We find some peace in knowing that he is no longer in pain, and has reunited with his parents, brothers and sister Henrietta in heaven.
