Sherman Arnetha Davis

Arnetha Sherman Davis was born to Rena Mae Davis and Percy Bryant, Sr. on March 27, 1936. On the morning of May 12, 2019 God reached down and took one of His servants home to be with Him. Sherman received Christ at an early age. He was a faithful member of Greater 12th Avenue Baptist Church, Columbus, Ohio for many years. In 2007 Sherman moved his membership to the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Columbus, Ohio. He enjoyed quartet groups as well as good preaching. You would often hear him say, "That was some great preaching." Sherman worked at National Electric Coil for some years. He later worked for the City of Columbus Division of Sewerage & Drainage where he retired after 28 years of service. Sherman enjoyed fishing and gardening. He seemed most content when he was piddling around and fixing things. Sherman was one who spoke his mind even though the timing was not always good. Sherman loved his wife and his children and there was nothing that he would not do for them or others. Sherman leaves to cherish his memory his children, Ray (Dianne) Davis, Carol (Clarence) Rice, Michael Davis and De'Angelo Golden. In 1979 he met and married Deniece "Cookie" Norris and to this union, one son was born, David Wyatt Davis. He is also survived by one sister, Lissie Redd and cousin, Jessie McDaniels; ten grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren as well as a host of other family members and friends.
