Sherry Lynn Tufts

April 15, 1959 — December 18, 2015

Sherry Lynn Neal Tufts, 56, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2015 at Columbus Colony Elderly Care after a long illness. She was born April 15, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio, followed minutes later by her twin brother, Terry, with whom she always maintained that special twin bond. She was a fun-loving person with a wry sense of humor who was known for generating laughter wherever she went. She enjoyed traveling, meeting new people and spending time with her family and friends. While working as a teacher’s aide in Columbus public schools, Sherry earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Wilberforce University, an M.B.A. from Franklin University and a teaching certificate from Grand Canyon University, and continued teaching elementary students in the district. She also taught Bible Study at Trevitt New Life Ministries where she was a member for 12 years. Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Neal, and grandmother, Helen Simmington. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Leonard Tufts; daughters, Helenia, Latiecha and Talisha Tufts; mother Mary E. Neal; brothers, Harvey Atkinson, Jay Ellis, and Terry (Charlene) Neal; five grandchildren and four nieces and nephews.
