Sonya Yvonne () Moore

Sonya Yvonne Moore was born June 27, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio. She retired from the City of Columbus after 24 years of employment. “Civil Service Sonya!!!!” She was also an active, long standing member of Greater Vision Missionary Baptist Church. Sonya loved her church and church family. Sonya was a loving, giving, kindhearted person who gave love to whomever she came in contact. She always had an encouraging word to say to anyone who needed it, and she always loved to talk about Jesus to anyone who would listen. Her motto was “If I can help someone along the way, then my living was not in vain!!!” On October 29, 2016, at the age of 64, Sonya went home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady Moore, Sr. and Maybelle Moore, and two sisters, Sharon Ann Barnes and Jessica Diane Saunders. She is survived by her son John Moore; daughter Sherrena (John) Aekins; grandson Elliot Jai Aekins; three sisters, Patricia Hope, Gloria (Prince) Cornelious, and Grace (Dr. Marvin) Miller; brother, Grady Moore, Jr.; uncle, Costlo (Ruth) Moore of Oakland, California; daughter-in-love, Leaundra Moore; special niece and caregiver, Delphia “Renee” Moore; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
