Stanley Anthony Drayton, Sr., age 67, went home to the Lord Friday, February 15, 2013 at his home, with his family at his side. He was born to the late Jasper Drayton, Jr. and Laura (Drayton) Jones on August 3, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio. The youngest of three siblings, Stanley was educated in Cleveland Public School system graduating from John Hay High School. Soon after, in 1963, Stanley joined the United States Army and was later deployed to the Vietnam War. Having the unique experience of serving our country along the side of his brother Jasper, Stanley quickly climbed the ranks becoming a specialist of the 101st Airborne Division up until 1966 when he returned to Cleveland. Proceeding his time in the military, Stanley spent the next 32 years working for Ohio’s telecommunication companies; Ohio Bell, ATT and Lucent Technologies. In Stanley’s first marriage he was blessed with his first child, Stanley, Jr. In 1977 he met and married the lovely Marva Jean Koenig. Their family was blessed with two more beautiful children, Melanie and Meghan. Always loyal, caring and very generous, Stanley never put himself in front of others. He wore his compassion for his family and friends on his sleeves and would do virtually anything to ensure the comfort of any guest that entered his home. Stanley loved music, sports, cooking, and a cup of coffee on the back patio in the mornings. He was sensitive, strong, handsome and very funny. He will be missed. He leaves to cherish sweet memories his loving wife, Marva Jean Drayton; children, Stanley (Monique) Drayton, Jr.; Melanie (Darryl) Robertson and Meghan (Edwin, Jr.) Jackson; 5 grandchildren, Kendra, Noah, Chloe, Amari and Anaya; his loving sister, Barbara Clark; brother and best friend, Jasper Drayton, III; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
