Stephanie Ann Francis went home suddenly to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 8, 2011. She is survived by her son, Devin Francis-Belcher, and by loving siblings, brother Dean Francis, sister Cynthia Francis and twin brother Stephen (Carolyn) Francis. Stephanie is also survived by her niece, Grace (Darrell) Hunter, and nephews Parris Francis, Stephen Francis, Jr. and John Francis; and by her aunt Ethel Neal, and a host of cousins who make up her extended family that provided needed love and support to her throughout her life. Stephanie also leaves many close and dear friends, whose relationships she cherished her entire life. She is also survived by her Godmother, Mrs. Otis Douglas of Charlottesville, VA. Stephanie is preceded in death by her father and mother, Attorney John L. Francis, and Mrs. Juanita J. Francis. After graduating from Eastmoor High School in Columbus, Ohio, Stephanie attended the University of Cincinnati where she majored in Sociology. She returned to Columbus to begin a career in education with the Franklin County Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (MRDD). Stephanie was a teacher’s assistant for over 16 years in the MRDD system, and spent most of her years at West Central School. Stephanie also worked for some time as an employee of the Franklin County Correction Center. Stephanie was also active at Second Baptist Church where she devoted considerable service to the Children's Church Ministry. She was a person who loved being with family and enjoyed reunions and holidays. Fishing, cooking specialty meals, and playing cards during family get-togethers were her favorite activities. The Francis Family understands the importance of the family unit, and Stephanie was a key advocate of family unity. Service: Thursday, May 12, 2011 12:00 PM
