Penn, Stephnie Carmel was born April 30, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio and reared by parents Walden and Patricia Penn. A graduate of Independence High School she obtained both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from The Ohio State University from where she retired with 35 years of service. Stephnie loved to read and travel and especially enjoyed cruising. She looked forward to family reunions and gatherings and was often involved in the planning. Active in the community, she served as president of the Easthaven Condo Association. A dedicated and committed member of the Resurrection Missionary Baptist Church, she served as church secretary for several years, and was a member of the Music, Outreach, Women of Faith, Evangelism and Mime Ministries. Stephnie also formed and was Lead Servant of the church’s Greeters Ministry. Stephnie transitioned from this life on December 11, 2018 at Kobacker House. She was proceeded in death by her father, Walden Penn; maternal grandparents Harley and Dorothy Latham; paternal grandparents Roscoe and Louise Penn; aunt Geraldine Latham Bolden; uncles Arnold and Harley Latham; and nephew DeVonte Penn. Stephnie leaves to cherish her memory beloved mother, Patricia Penn; biological father, William (Jasmine) Featherstone; brother, LaVelle Penn; aunt, Helen Latham Glaze; uncles, Kenneth (Pat) Latham and Will Bolden; nieces, Mercedes and Alexa Penn; nephews Anthony and Lavelle, Penn Jr.; special cousin, Denice (James) White; special friends, April Adkins, Catherine Crosby, Lisa Early, Joyce Ford, Norris Freeman, Nikki Radcliffe; many other family, friends and church family.
