Stevedore “Steve” Crawford, Sr. was born on August 9, 1936 in Frankfort, OH. He lived and worked in Delaware, OH. Steve joined the United States Air Force, from which he was honorably discharged, and traveled about the world. He was employed by Uqui-Box, Corco, Western Kraft, Williamette, and Weyerhaeuser Company. He retired from Weyerhaeuser in 2002. Steve played and coached baseball and softball for many years. He enjoyed bowling and golfing., and was an avid member of the Amvets Post #3 of Delaware, Ohio. He was a mason, as well as a member of the #10 White Sufpher Lodge of Delaware Ohio. Steve passed away on July 10, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stevedore and Ester (Fears) Crawford; ex-wife, Patricia (Pierce) Crawford; and brother-in-law, Ceaphus Patterson, Sr. He is survived and will be remembered by his brother, James (Marcella); sisters, Lillian and Betty (Russell); children, Tim, Tracy, Troy, Stevedore “Steve” Jr., Mia, Travis, Lisa an Brittany; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many other relatives and special friends. Steve’s life journey brought encouragement and honor to those whom encountered his presence.
