Susan Madonna Stewart Holland, December 5, 1926 - November 25, 2011, died peacefully at age 84 at Summit Trace Healthcare Center. Born in Surry County, North Carolina, she was preceded in death by her parents Abraham and Thelma Stewart, and her brother James Stewart. Susan graduated from the Ohio State University and was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Theta Chapter. She taught 30 years for Columbus City Schools in several elementary buildings, including: Pilgrim, Ohio Ave. and Windsor. In her final years she was a Title I Reading Teacher. She also taught Home Economics at Champion in the Evening School Program. She was a longtime member of St. Philip Episcopal Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Susan is survived by children, Livonia Davis, Ralph (Robin) Holland Jr. and Rodney Holland; and grandchildren, David Holland, Regence Holland, Robby Holland, Rashawn Davis and Jovan Davis. She is also survived by several cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the St. Philip Food Pantry in Memory of Susan Holland, St. Philip Episcopal Church, 166 Woodland Ave., Columbus, OH 43203.
