Suzie Elizabeth 'Child' (Barnes) Zeigler

Suzie Elizabeth Zeigler, also known affectionately as “Child”, passed away July 11, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born in McDonough, Georgia, but as a young child, moved to Columbus, Ohio, where she graduated from Central High School. She was a faithful disciple and choir member at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, and affiliated with the Gold Circle organization and the Brittany Hills Neighborhood Association. She was a loving mother and homemaker who enjoyed knitting and cake decorating. Suzie was preceded in death by her husband, Willie D. Zeigler, parents, Charles and Marie Barnes, three brothers, and four sisters. She is survived by her children, Sherry Green, Cynthia J., Charles G., and Curtis D. Zeigler, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Gary Lemar, Schlena, Charles, Tayvin, and Omarion Zeigler, and Ak’Kiya Cummings; twelve great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; sisters, Emma Jones, Christina Hampton, Rebecca Redman, and Arnella Anthony; “adopted” children Terry Jewell, Homer and Tonya Barrett; and a host of other relatives and friends.
