Sylvia "Juanita" Cannaday Wallace of Columbus, born November 22, 1936, peacefully went to be her Lord on April 9th, 2019, at age 82. Sylvia was born and raised in Columbus, OH and was a graduate of South High School and a life-long member of The South-End Girls. Sylvia retired from Western Electric/AT&T/Lucent Technologies in 1993. She was a member of the Maynard Ave Baptist Church for over 40 years, taking leadership roles of Adult Sunday School teacher and secretary of the church. She was also a mother in worship to two young women she affectionately referred to as “my girls”. She had an undying love for God and the word. No trial or tribulation could stop her from shouting “Thank ya’ Lord!”. With a loving and caring soul, with constant motivation to do for others, Sylvia will truly be missed by all who encountered her. Sylvia is preceded by John W. Cannaday Sr., Sarah L. (Calloway) Cannaday, Charlie Harry, John W. Cannaday Jr. (Dorothy), James Edward Cannaday (Lula Mae), Dolly G. Moore, Louis Cannaday (Valerie), Rufus Cannaday (Camille), Jennie M. Hess (Tommy) and Donald Cannaday (Ernestine). Sylvia is survived by her Sister-In-Law Emma Cannaday, Daughters Rochelle Grant of Jacksonville, Florida and Zana Wallace, sons Cornell Wallace and Raven Wallace (Hazel) of San Diego, California, grandchildren & great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
