Theodore Adverse Terry, affectionately known as Teddy, was born March 23, 1941 to Theodore George and Glelda Mae Terry. A lifelong resident of Columbus, Ohio, Teddy grew up in Poindexter Village where he served as a member of its resident council. Over the years, he has worked in various capacities and, at one time, was an employee of Franklin County. Teddy was a former member of the Male Chorus at Macedonia Baptist Church and, in recent years, attended Refuge Temple Church of Christ with his daughter and her family. Teddy never met a stranger and could often draw the attention and adoration of those around him with his magnetic personality. On Thursday, July 9, 2015, Theodore A. Terry was called home to be with the Lord while at The Isabelle Ridgway Care Center in Columbus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Jean Mann, JoAnn Danner, and Anna Pearl Terry. Teddy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of fifty years, Jean A. Terry; children, JoAnn Terry and Dr. Theodore A. (Mary) Terry; grandchildren, Jaquez Terry and Jakya Hathorn; two great grandchildren; special cousins, Frances Johnson and Patricia Cathey; special niece, Sharon Majors; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
