Thomas C. Mckinney

Our Lord and Savior has called one of his angels home. Thomas Cecil McKinney, the youngest of four children born to parents, Russell and Mildred McKinney. Thomas was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 30, 1938. Thomas received his education at Champion School where he later went on to serve in the Navy. He enlisted on March 27, 1956 where he ranked as a 3rd class petty Sargent Grade SA. He served 4 years and obtained an honorable discharge on April 17, 1962. Thomas went on to be employed at various companies, Buckeye Steel, R.G. Berry, and Timken where he retired from 25 years of service. Thomas then met Julia Morton in which they married in January 1959. To that union they had 2 daughters, Tanya Robinson and Genevieve Young. In 1968, Thomas met long time companion Mary Ward in which they had a son, Thomas Ward. Thomas enjoyed fishing, jazz, singing and spending time with loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Mildred McKinney; brothers, James and William McKinney and sister, Genevieve Draughon. He leaves to cherish his life, brother, Henry McKinney; sister-in-law, Nona McKinney; life long companion, Mary Ward; children, Tanya Robinson, Genevieve Young, Thomas (Tyesha) Ward; bonus children, Jerome (Shenna) Ward, Bryan (Ann) Ward, Kimberly (Melvin) Tate, Sharon Ward, Barry Ward; grandchildren, Michelle Battle, Sirea Clyburn, Christopher Johnson, Juleah Young, Tiana Young, Dahja Hill, Joshua Carter, Ziare Ward, Xavier Ward, Rex Ward, MacKenzie Watts, Ronneldric Ward, Larry Crudup, Jeremy Ward, Shakira Ward, Johnathan Ward, Avery Ward, Alicia Ward, Devin (Mai) Ward, Maui Ward; 14 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and special nephew/son, James (Cynthia) McKinney.
