Thomas Eugene Cross Jr. was born on May 13, 1967 to Thomas E. Cross Sr. and Sherdinia D. Cross in Columbus, Ohio. Sadly, he departed this life unexpectedly on February 17, 2019. Thomas graduated from Marion Franklin High School in June of 1985, where he played football and basketball. He was an “Amazing Dunker”. In 1994, Tom began his career with Coca-Cola North America – Syrup Branch, where he was just a few months shy of 25 years of service. Thomas was affectionately known as Tommy, T.C, Big T. Cross, Black Jack, Black J., June Bug, The Sheek, Junior, and of course Bubbie. At a young age, Tom was baptized and raised in the Southfield Community Baptist Church, under Pastor Rufus N. Simpson, where he served on the Usher Board and sang in the choir. Though not an active member, Junior loved the Lord and was a God Fearing Man. June Bug never married or had children, however; he was a father to many. Junior adored his nieces and nephews. He took care of them! He would do anything he could for them until the day God called him home. T.C. enjoyed cooking, bowling, and shooting pool. From coast to coast, he never met a stranger. Tom loved his friends and he was “Top Dog”. Thomas Jr. was preceded in death by his mother, Sherdinia D. Cross, sister, Vanessa Ayers, paternal grandparents, Charlie L. and Mary Lee Cross, maternal grandparents, John Nick and Dorothy B. Martin, Uncles John R. Martin, James Martin, Orlando Martin, and nephew, Maurice Cross. Thomas Jr. leaves to cherish his memories, his loving father, Thomas E. Cross Sr., sisters Gloretta and Michelle Cross, nephews, Marz, Johnny, Michael, LeVon, and Thomas Cross, all of Columbus, OH. Nieces, Kemika Redman, Mykia Cross, and Kenyadda Mardis. Great nephews, Marz Jr., Malachi, John, Jeremiah, Jaydon, Kemoni, and Khalid. Great nieces, Khera, Ke’yasia, Kashanti, Kamarii. Vanessa, Mackenzie and (Continuation Page 1) Michaela, all of Columbus, OH. He also shared a love for C4 and Nae. Uncles, James Cross (Virginia) of Inglewood, CA, Charlie L. Cross Jr. (Thelma), Frezell Cross (Anita), and Rufus Calvin Cross, and Isaiah Martin, all of Columbus, OH. Aunts, Abrigail Cross, of Birmingham, AL, Mary Moss of Seattle, WA, Demetrice Cross, Ann Martin, and Georgia Martin, all of Columbus, OH, and Pat Martin, of Roanoke, VA. Junior had a host of cousins and friends. While we cannot list them all, we would be remorse to not mention a special few, Timbo, John John, Jason, Rapmaster Ron, and Gene Jr., The Top Dogs, Victor, Tim, Mike, Eric, Chip, Todd, Von, and Duane, as well as, Hank, Darryl, Torris, Lamont and the Marion Franklin Class of 1985.
