THORNETIA NANCY HOWARD was born Saturday, June 29, 1940, in Fayetteville, West Virginia. She was the daughter of James T. Anderson and Arethia Mary Anderson. She was affectionately called “Nita” or “Nini” by family and friends. Thornetia received her formal education from Columbus City Schools and was a graduate of Central High School. She was employed by Franklin County Department of Human Services. Thornetia loved the Lord. She was a member and church mother of Glory to God Ministries. She also was a member of the Columbus Urban League. In her leisure, she enjoyed traveling and photography. However, Thornetia dearly loved her family and expressed her love by preparing and hosting large dinners. Blessed with 80 years of life, our beloved Thornetia N. Howard transitioned to glory on Saturday, October 31, 2020. In additional to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Marvin Howard and brother, Louie J. Anderson. Loving memories are cherished by her sons, Don and Steven (Yolanda) Fairfax; sister, Valerie Carson; grandchildren, Syreeta, Steven, Christina, and Rickki; nine great grandchildren; a host of other family members and friends.

Beginning at 9am, doors will open for a walk-through viewing. For the mutual wellness and respect of those present, all visitors are asked to wear an appropriate face covering, apply an alcohol-based hand sanitizer spray upon entry, and maintain proper distancing according to current public health guidelines. We encourage you to utilize Thornetia's memorial celebration wall to view her video tribute, send flowers and post an expression of sympathy and support for the family. A receptacle will also be available for on-site collection of sympathy cards and condolence letters.
