Troy Edward Jones was born February 11, 1945 to Maxine Rankin Jones and Edward Randolph Jones in Holden (Logan County), West Virginia. In the early 1950's, when Troy was a child, he moved with his family to Columbus, Ohio. Troy attended Everett Junior High School, and was a scholar student at Central High School, from which he graduated in 1962. He was later selected as a student writer at the Columbus Dispatch. He was a bold and courageous ambassador for peace, with a gentle soul, who loved being around all of his family and many friends. He departed on July 10, 2015, while at the Columbus Eastland Care Center, at the age of 70. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jacquelyn J. Chandler and Tony Jones, grandfathers, Rankin and Jones, uncles, Gilbert, Charles, James, Alex, Earl, Vacy, Norman, and Cary, and aunts, Harry and Margaret. Left to cherish memories of Troy are his four children, Tahitia (Kevin), Troy (Lisa), Todd (Yolanda), and Atiba (Lesley); the mothers of his children, Linda Taylor, Sylvia Jones, and Georgetta Lake; 12 grandchildren, Devin, Dallas (Thea), Kiya, Dain, Aisha, Kenny, Gabby, Todd, Tahirah, Nailah, Anisa, and Omari; 6 great grandchildren, Damien, Gionni, Kiylee, Kiyel, Drennan, and Dreighton; brother-in-law Dr. Wallace Chandler; uncle Howard (Sonja) and George (Tee); aunts, Eunice, Frances, Connie (James), Jonita (Bob), and Ronita; special niece and caregiver, Tanika Hoover-Jackson; special cousin/sister, Angel White; and a host of other relatives and lifelong friends.
