Tyrone Eugene Thomas, age 68, was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 1, 1952 to the late Arvella and Curtis Thomas, Sr. On Monday, March 15, 2021 an angel of God stopped by his residence to escort him home to be with the Lord. Tyrone was raised and educated in Columbus, Ohio, graduating from Marion Franklin High School in 1971. He still remained good friends with many of those he grew up with in the Stambaugh community where he spent many evenings playing basketball at "the Playground". He was a hard worker professionally in every job he held. Most recently he was gainfully employed by Crane Plastics where he retired after over 30 years of employment. Tyrone was an avid gardener and loved sharing his harvest of vegetables with others. He enjoyed family vacations at the beach, attending the Jones Family Reunions, family cook outs, and cooking on the grill. He loved fast cars and was an avid OSU Buckeyes, Chicago Bulls and Chicago Bears fan. Tyrone gave so much to family and friends, near and far. He had an affinity to help anyone who was in need, never looking for anything in return. Affectionately called "Ty", he was a quiet gentleman, a loving brother, strong father, the coolest uncle, and the best friend. Tyrone accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior and was baptized at an early age. He was a member of Second Shiloh Baptist Church where he often used his grilling skills at the church picnics and fellowships. He loved God and never complained during his illness, often reminding us that God had him. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Arvella and Curtis Thomas, Sr.; brother, Curtis Thomas Jr., sister-in-law, Brenda Thomas; brother-in-law William "Freddie" Morris and great- nephew Kenny Thomas. Tyrone leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving son Edward (Anita) Thomas, Detroit, MI; brother, Gregory (Deborah) , sisters; Clara Thomas, Lucille Morris, Jeanette (Ronell) Jones and Patsy Thomas, special nephew Kevin (Carol) Thomas and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including Steve Carr, Mark Henderson, Luddie Hatten Jr. and special friend Karen Harrison. A precious one from us is gone. A voice we loved is still. A place is vacant in our hearts, which can never be filled; although a lot of heartaches, and many sorrowful tears; there is always a beautiful memory of one we love so dear. -- The Family
