VANCE GREGORY HENDRICKS, SR. was born in Columbus, Ohio, on Wednesday, January 17, 1962. He was the son of Donald Lee Hendricks and Patricia Denton. “Cowboy,” as he was affectionately called by family and friends, attended Linden McKinley High School, where he was an award-winning track athlete. Vance loved the Lord and was baptized at Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church.
Vance held various positions in the field of construction and renovations. Early in life, Vance worked as a DJ and was also a former employee of Ohio Bell. In his leisure time, Vance was an avid fisherman, enjoyed music, loved watching westerns, and most of all, spending quality time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Our beloved Vance G. Hendricks, Sr. entered eternal rest on Friday, May 26, 2023. He was sixty-one years of age. Vance was preceded in death by his father, Donald Lee Hendricks; brother, Shane Hendricks; paternal grandmother, Louise Hendricks; paternal grandfather, Pete Hendricks; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Hobbs; maternal grandfather, James Clyde Hobbs
Loving memories are cherished by his mother, Patricia Denton; daughters, Lorraine Kyles, Janet Hendricks, and Rannada Hendricks; son, Vance Hendricks Jr.; sisters, Lynette Hendricks, Tacia Hendricks, and Shannon Hendricks; brothers, Marc Hendricks and Shawn Davenport; nieces, Melissa Hendricks, Renika Hendricks, and Markia Hendricks; nephews, Kino Hendricks and Marc Hendricks II; a host of other family members and dear friends.
