Vernia Castle 'Mother' (Nobleton) Crews

Vernia Nobleton Crews, 94, born February 8, 1920, departed her earthly life August 27, 2014. Vernia Crews was united in marriage to Eugene Crews in 1937, and of this union, eight children were born. Before relocating to Columbus, Ohio, she resided in Williamson (Mingo County), West Virginia, where she was a longtime member of Christ Temple Church. In Columbus, she united with All Nations Church, where she was a faithful member for 29 years under the leadership of Bishop Brian Keith Williams. Her current church home is Hope City House of Prayer, Pastor Brian M. Williams. Vernia was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, and a daughter, Norscitrita Green. She leaves behind children, Mildred Spence, Priscilla Caballero of Bronx, NY, William Crews, Charles Crews, Carolyn Crews, Brenda (Claude) Peak, of Columbus, and Janice Crews Dearing of Buffalo, NY; brother, General Jones of Williamson; 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
