Vincent Edward Smithers, Jr.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio December 18, 1949 to Ann Elizabeth (Twitty) Smithers & Vincent Edward Smithers, Sr. He was the youngest of 5 children. He attended Central High School.
In 1970, Vincent would go on to enlist in the United States Army in which he served his country for 4 year. In 1974, Vincent would trade in his Army boots and return to what was once his first love, working on cars. As an teenager, he was taught by his uncle Bill Summerville how to work on and build cars from the ground up which earned him the reputation as an master mechanic who can fix anything. Later he would take to the liking of semi trucks where he solidified himself as a true pioneer trucker with 47 years and millions of miles. Vincent was a man of pride, love, and faith. He was a man of God.
He was preceded in death by parents, Ann Elizabeth (Twitty) Smithers, Vincent Edward Smithers, Sr.; wife, Sheila D. Smithers; brother, Donald E. Whitaker; sister, Ethel Smith.
Vincent leaves to mourn; brothers Frank Whitaker, Pastor David Whitaker; children, Tina ,Tonya, Vincent lll (Tonya), Kelly, Tara, Charles (Annie), Story, Anthony, Moka, Robin, Leonard, Jimmy, Taylor, Mark, Danesha; 48 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.
