Vivian Marjorie Frazier

June 14, 1921 — June 19, 2012

Vivian Marjorie Frazier was born in Columbus, Ohio to the union of Richard Oliver Phillips and Vister Erma Lambert on June 14, 1921. She attended Columbus Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Jack C. Frazier, Sr. in Columbus, Ohio. To this union were born six children. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Calvary Tremont Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Rev. W. J. Payden. She has been actively involved in the inner workings of this church her entire church life. She held Membership in Senior Choir #2 (Gospel Choir) for many years having held offices as Treasurer and Chaplain. She also served as Supervisor of the Youth Choir for many years. Her youngest son, the late Michael Steven Frazier, served as Pianist and Organist. She served on the annual Turkey Dinner committee with proceeds going toward the building fund. She was Chairman of the Dessert Team which was considered an important fundraising event. Mother Frazier truly loved Calvary Tremont Baptist Church and served the church faithful under 4 Pastors. These being Pastor W. J. Payden, Pastor Frank Hearns, Pastor Joe Carter and current Pastor Harold Hudson. She loved Sunday School and Noonday Prayer Service and would attend regularly when physically able. She was also a member of the Mother's Board. Vivian was employed for over thirty years by The Ohio State University Hospital and retired in 1983 as a Lab Technician. She was a loving and kind person and humble in her spirit. Vivian never met a stranger. She was always willing to help out whenever she could and wherever she could. Her words of wisdom will be cherished by many. She enjoyed being around her family. Vivian had a green thumb for flowers and loved Gospel Music and Easy Listening Music. Her favorite songs were, Yes Jesus Loves Me, Great Is They Faithfulness and We Shall Behold Him. One of her favorite pastimes was watching television and she especially enjoyed late night television. Vivian was an avid reader and loved magazines. Her favorite quotation was Deal Only With The Present - Never Step Into Tomorrow. For God Asks Us To Just Trust Him and Never Borrow Sorrow. TODAY BE ACCEPTABLE, ADJUSTABLE AND RECEPTIVE. One of her favorite scriptures was Matthew 6: 14-15. On Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at 6:24 a.m. with her daughter, Barbara, by her side, Vivian's spirit peacefully slipped away into the arms of Christ. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Jack Frazier, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, daughters, Diantha (George) Freeman of Akron, Ohio and Barbara Frazier-Reese of Columbus, Ohio, Grandchildren; Michael (Belinda) Wright, Lynette Scott; G. Gregory (Sherice) Freeman; Rodney (Anita) Reese; Michelle (Charles) Scott; Staci Freeman; M. Simeon -Ross (Felicia) Frazier; M. Danielle (John) Caldwell and M. Brandon Frazier; great-grandchildren, special neice, Goldie Oliver, Special friends, Melvin Mitchell and Elizabeth (Money) Ails and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents Richard Oliver Phillips and Vister Erma Pryor, husband Jack Frazier, Sr., and three sons, Phillip Artis Frazier, Ronald Eugene Frazier and Michael Steven Frazier.
