Walker "Leon" Howard

Walker L. Howard was born July 27, 1935 in Wytheville, VA. He was the son of Walker Howard and Emily Crockett. Howard proudly served in the U.S. Army where he was honorably discharged on February 21, 1957. He retired from John Clay Masonry in 1988. Walker, "Grandaddy" or “Leon”, as he was affectionately called, was truly loved by his family.  He enjoyed gambling, fishing, and baseball. His favorite saying was "Where's my money!" On Saturday, February 13, 2021, Walker entered into eternal rest.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Howard; father, Walker Glenn Howard; mother, Emily Crockett; children, Elaine, Gary, and Labaron; step daughter, Cynthia; and sister, Carrie Boysaw. Loving memories are cherished by his daughters, Monica and Karla; sons; Joseph, Terrence, Allen, and Leon Jr.; step daughters, Terry, Joyce, and Deborah; sisters, Helen and Betty; brother, Gene; son-in-law Ernest; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
