Walter “Bishop” Wallace September 30th, 1940 – September 6th, 2016. Born in Talladega, Alabama moved to Columbus Ohio around the age of 10. Member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Graduated from Columbus East High School and attended Franklin University. Preceded in death by Mother, Ruth Christine Chandler Wallace; Father, Ernest Wallace Sr.; 6 brothers and 5 sisters and daughter, Angela Lynn Wallace. Surviving relatives wife, Marion Jean Wallace; sons, Terry and Teron Wallace; daughters, Robin Jeffers, Rochelle Bettis, Ronette Smith, Crystal Johnson, Renalda Bufka, and Ruciana (Demetrius) Wallace-Pate; brothers, Robert (Terry) Wallace, Jessie Wallace; sister, Gladys Wallace; loyal friend of many years, Mike Smith; 24 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Organist of the Wallace Bros. Band and later inducted into the Columbus Senior Musicians Hall of Fame. He worked for Columbus Public Schools for many years as a bus driver, maintenance technician and a painter. Home Going Celebration will begin at 12 noon on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Christ United Methodist Church, 1480 Zettler Rd., where family will receive friends from 10 AM until time of service.
