Wanda Denise (Hill) Long

Wanda Denise (Hill) Long was born March 2, 1959 to Warren Edward Hill and Thelma Louise (Zanders) Hill at Lockbourne Air Force Base in Columbus, Ohio. In her early years, she had the opportunity to travel the world with her parents and later graduated from Central High School in 1980. A member of New Birth Christian Ministries, Wanda worked for many years as a nursing assistant in various locations and she was last employed as a security officer. Additionally, Wanda helped raise her sister’s children, Layona, Kayona, and Homer Hill. She loved her family; her grandchildren were the light of her life. Along with being a loving sister, aunt, and grandma, Wanda was a cherished mother and friend to many loved ones whom she regarded as an extension of her family circle. She had a sense of humor and enjoyed dancing and going to the casino. On November 26, 2016, at the age of 57, Wanda D. Long departed from this life while at her Columbus residence. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Linda Louise Hill, grandparents, Snook Zanders and Minnie Pearl Zanders, grandsons, Antonio Lamont Frazier and Javon Starghill, daughter-in-law, Teijana Mathews-Zeigler, and former husband Anthony Long. She is survived by her son Dartangnan T. Hill; daughters, Tonette M. Long-Mathews (Antjuan Mathews) and Christina L. Long; stepmother Joyce Hill; brothers, Warren E. Hill, Jr. (Lynette), William A. (Janet) Hill, Lavell (Laurie) Hill, and Daniel (Sydney) Hill; sister Melanie (Demetrius) Hill; special aunt Janice Sommerville; special uncle Ray Walker; life partner Henry Falls; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
