Wendeline Burton Ross, 56, born in Canton, Ohio, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010. A graduate of Canton South High School (1971), The Ohio State University (B.S., 1975), and University of Dayton (M.S., 1984), Wendy was employed 33 years as an educator and counselor with the Columbus Public Schools. She was a member of the Columbus Education Association (CEA), Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. - Alpha Sigma Omega Chapter, and Delta Kappa Gamma Society, International for Key Women Educators. Preceded in death by father Samuel Burton, Sr. Survived by sons Joshua James Ross and Jordian Lee Ross; mother Sallie Chappell Burton; former husband Joseph L. Ross; brother Samuel Burton Jr., sisters, Benetta Burton, Beverly (Michael) Bush, and Debbie Burton Cheatham; nephews Andre Lamar Burton and Montel Bush; nieces, Jacquelyn M. Cheatham, Jessica R. Cheatham, Imani M. Mush, and Trisetta Hill Paris; special family friends Erick L. Golden and Brenda Davidson; a host of other relatives and dear friends. Celebration of Life 10 a.m., Saturday, July 24, 2010 at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, 2956 Cleveland Ave., where the family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the start of service (AKA Ritual @ 9:30a.m.).
