Rev. Weymon Eugene Dozier, 89, a faithful servant of God, born May 2, 1927 in Cincinnati, OH, transitioned to be with the Lord on December 19, 2016. The son of Blanche and Ralph Dozier, he was raised by his mother and step-father, Edward Lomax. Rev. Dozier attended the Columbus City School System and graduated from East High School in 1946. He attended Kentucky State University, where he played Junior Varsity football, and graduated from the Eastern Union College with a Bachelor of Arts in Divinity. After completing high school, Reverend Dozier played with the semi-pro football team 740 AC where his sister, Martha J. Prillerman, cheered. As a devout Christian minister, Rev. Dozier first served as Senior Pastor of St. Luke AME Zion Church in Columbus, and subsequently, served 15 years as Senior Pastor for Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, OH. After his retirement from full time ministry, Rev. Dozier served as Senior Associate Minister for Trinity Baptist Church until the time of his death. In his early years, while employed by the Defense Construction Supply Center (DCSC), Rev. Dozier worked part-time at the Columbus Neighborhood House. Shortly after, he worked in the U. S. Postal Service for 35 years where he served as a letter carrier and was promoted to the position of supervisor and station manager. He then retired and focused full time on his ministry. Rev. Dozier's contributions were directly aligned with his love of God and his ministry. Consequently, he participated in the Baptist Pastor's Conference as well as served as President of the Baptist Ministerial Alliance for several years. One of Rev. Dozier's greatest joys was participating in all of his children's, grandchildren's, and great grandchildren's extracurricular activities. Rev. Dozier is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen T. Dozier; daughter Jacqueline Dozier Ralls; son Wayne E. (Maria) Dozier; grandchildren, Tiffany R. Ralls, Wesley E. (Chelsea) Dozier, and Morgan B. Dozier; great grandchildren, Bryland M.V. Alexander and Westin E. Dozier; nephews, Donald L. (Carolyn) Stinson and William R.
