Wilbert Lash, born July 14, 1918 in Havaco, West Virginia passed on April 3, 2012 following a short illness and hospital stay. Wilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Kathryn L. Russell and James Preston and his brother, William Preston. After graduating from Central High School in Columbus, Ohio, Wilbert served in the United States Army and was a decorated veteran of World War II. Following his stint in the Army he was employed at DCSC for 43 years, retiring in 1990. He was a faithful member of the St. Luke United Methodist Church and Setting Free Church, Pastor John H. Wallace. Married to Martha Stewart Lash, he also leaves to mourn his passing two sisters, Alma Carter and Mattie Morgan; nieces, Barbara Rhea, Ellen Kinchen and Martha Springs; nephews, John Carter, Daniel (Karen) Purnell and Gerald Purnell and a host of great nieces, nephews and friends.
