Mr. Wilbur K. Berry, Sr. was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on Monday, August 20, 1934. He was the son of Leslie Berry and Goldie Pope. In 1959, Wilbur was united in holy matrimony to Jennie L. Allen. Wilbur was a retired twenty-year veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired as a Technical Sergeant (TSGT). Following the Air Force, Wilbur was employed as a Manager with Sears Distribution Center. There, he retired with twenty-six dedicated years of service. Brother Berry was a member of Wesley Church of Hope, where he served as Trustee. Blessed with eighty-seven years of life, our beloved Wilbur K. Berry, Sr. entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 27, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Berry and Goldie Pope; his wife of forty-three years, Jennie L. Berry; children, Thomas Earl, Wilbur K. Berry Jr., and Calvin F. Berry; brothers, Lawrence (Jerlena) Berry, Alphonso Berry, Ronald Lee Berry, and Milton Berry; and sisters, Eula Mae Smith and Margaret Berry. Wilbur was a great husband, father, and Papa. Loving memories are cherished by his children, Pearlie Kendrick of Clarksville, Tennessee, Diana L. (Horace) Carey of Olathe, Kansas, Leslie Poindexter, Arthur Berry, and Sharon (Mark) Cavelle, all of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Norma Becton of Chicago, Illinois; brother, Lawrence “Deuce” (Wilma) Berry of Louisville, Kentucky; daughter-in-law, Lisa Berry; and sister-in-law, Gisela Berry. Wilbur is survived by a plethora of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other family members, and dear friends.
