Willa M. Driskell was born to the late Arthur Pasco McCoy and Bessie Isom Walker on March 4, 1929 and went home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2019. Willa was born and raised in Palatka, Florida. She left Florida and moved to Chicago and later moved to Ohio. She enjoyed staying at home. She loved it so much that the family in Florida have given her the name 'Aunt Homie'. The family in Ohio calls her Aunt Nita. Aunt Nita loved to be around family. She was a homemaker for many years until her youngest son, Eric got out of High School. She then started working at Gorman Flexible in Loudonville OH where she retired. Aunt Nita worked part-time for the Dayspring Richland County Home in Mansfield Oh as the Head Cook. She loved to cook and entertain. Her children have fond memories of the house being filled with people and FOOD. She was also a PK (Pastor's Kid) and so she understood and had a close relationship with the Lord. Her father was a Bishop in the AME Methodist Churches. Aunt Nita is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lillie M. McKelton; nephew, Harvey McCoy; and neice, Luctricia Lee. She is survived by her children, Cortez (Dorothy) Driskell, Cynthia Driskell and Eric Driskell; grandchildren, Cortez Lati, Jr., Eric Alexander, Jr. and TaeVaugh Driskell; great-granddaughter, Ella Ann Driskell and a host of other relatives and friends.
