William Charles 'Bill' Pearson

April 6, 1931 — August 27, 2010

William “Bill” Charles Pearson, 79, lifelong resident of Columbus, departed this life on Friday, August 27, 2010. He was a member of City of Zion Hill Baptist Church and a U.S. Air Force veteran. Preceded in death by wife Ruth Pearson, parents Clarence and Mary (Mapp) Pearson, son Steve Pearson, sister Marlene Harris, and brothers Robert and Clarence Pearson. Survived by children, Mary Wilson, Marquise Pearson, Beverly (Rick) Casey, Janet Pearson, Timothy Pearson; stepchildren, Sherwin Jackson, Pamela Carter, Hervie and Harvey Jackson, Wetzel Jackson, Keith Jackson, Karen Jackson, Sandra Jackson, and Sheila James; sister Imogene Wallace; a host of grandchildren, other loving relatives and friends. Homegoing Celebration 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at City of Zion Hill Baptist Church, 527 Wilson Ave., where family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until start of service. Pastor Elgin D. Orton, officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
