William Lloyd Garner

William Garner Claybrooks was born January 31, 1952 in Greensboro North Carolina. He moved to Columbus, Ohio with his family at the age of five years old. William graduated from East High School in 1970 and joined the Navy where he served for 2 years. He then married and later divorced Alice (Copeland) Claybrooks (deceased). Two sons where born of this union: Donte’ Lamar Claybrooks and Lamont Copeland as well as an adopted son, David Eccor. William passed away on September 27, 2014 at Mt Carmel West Hospital surrounded by loved ones. William was preceded in death by his parents, William Lord Garner, Sr. and Dorothy Claybrooks Garner, and his siblings Robert Lee Claybrooks, Caroll (Claybrooks) Muse. In addition to his sons Donte’, Lamont. William leaves behind to cherish his memory his sister, Retta (Claybrooks) Thomas, nephew Kerry (Tiffanie) Thomas Jr., niece Reina Thomas, ex-brothers in law Carl Copeland and Roderick Copeland, his aunt Marie, nephews Melvin (Alondia) Claybrooks and William (Beanie) Claybrooks, his partner, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Webb, grandchildren: Monique, Rakuona, and Lawrence, and a host of family and friends.
