William Payne Jr.

WILLIAM PAYNE JR. was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, on Saturday, January 13, 1934. He was the son of Jesse Payne and William Payne, Sr. Bill, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was a resident of Columbus, Ohio, for over sixty years.

William was a die-hard Ohio State Buckeye fan. He truly enjoyed attending their football and basketball games. William also enjoyed hunting, fishing, automobile racing, and doing mechanical work.

Blessed with eighty-nine years of life, our beloved William Payne Jr. entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Darlene Payne; son, Darwin Brandon; grandson, Shawn Jerome Howard; great grandsons, Nazeer Winton and Ra’vell Arline; great-great grandson, David Roberts IV; brother, Earl Payne; and sisters, Dorothy Perkins, Marion Davis, Shirley Gore, Wilmetta Perkins, Katheline Perkins, and Helen Harris.

Loving memories are cherished by his daughters, Paula Payne, Pamela Murphy, Mechelle Payne, Deborah Payne, and Linda Payne; son, William Randolph Payne; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and dear friends.
