William Poindexter Ii

William Edward Bubba” Poindexter went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 21, 2011 at his home. He was born on Monday, September 26, 1927 to Marie and William Poindexter Sr. in Columbus, Ohio. He was a Korean War Veteran and was honored with the Purple Heart. Residing in Columbus, he attended Franklin University. He retired from the United States Post Office in November of 1991 having worked there for more than 25 years. He dedicated his golden years to helping others, as well as spending time with his children, grandchildren, and most recently his great¬ granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 22 years Patricia Poindexter, sisters Thelma Porter, Gloria (William) Scott, Ruth Devlin, Deloris Banks, Leatrice Collins, brothers La Von Poindexter and George Spud Poindexter. He is survived by sister Geraldine (John) Williams; sister-n-law, Vera Poindexter; children, Della Poindexter, Patricia (Bill) Williams, Lois Poindexter, Elyssa (Aaron) Green, Wilma (John) Hatton and sons Andrew Banks and William (Ayanna) Poindexter III; grandchildren, Diedra (Robert) Jackson, Iiesha Poindexter, Asia (William) Jackson, Brittney Poindexter, Julia Poindexter, Nathanial Marshal, Nalyssa Marshal, Gabrielle Marshal, Adonis Green, Christina Green; great grandchild, Da'Mya Shelby Poindexter as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
