William Stanley 'Bill' Chapman

September 21, 1932 — March 7, 2015

William Bill - Happy Chap Chapman, was the youngest of five (5) children born to George and Georgia (Cozzen) Chapman. He graduated from Corning High School and attended John Carroll University where he was an Education major. He enlisted in the army during the Korean Conflict. Bill was a fulltime employee with the State of Ohio, but was better known around Columbus as Happy Chap because of his work as a disc jockey at WVKO from the early to late 1960 's. He was also employed by WBNS and WCMH during the late '60 's and 70 's. Bill was also an entrepreneur, who co-founded Ebony Fuel. He attended St Patrick's Catholic Church. Bill had the wonderful gift of gab. His ready smile, joking nature, and insatiable desire to remain on top of current events, afforded him the ability to converse with anyone. He was uniquely Bill and those who had the opportunity to know him were blessed by his fun loving nature, mentorship and engaging conversation. Love is his legacy and his smile will remain with us forever ..... He will be truly missed! On the morning of March 7, 2015, Bill Chapman was called home to be with our Lord and Savior. He was preceded in death by his; sons, Kevin Chapman and Timothy Harris; parents, George and Georgia(Cozzens) Chapman; brothers, Robert and John Chapman; sisters, Constance Farmer, Winifred Chapman and Audrey Johnson. Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Deborah; sons, Michael Harris, Phillip (Jenny) Chapman, Kenneth Chapman, Brandon Chapman of Columbus, Ohio and Keith Chapman of Marion, Ohio; daughter, Arielle Chapman of Columbus, Ohio; Grandchildren, Mica Harris, Cierra Chapman, Preston Harris, Alex Chapman, Tye Chapman, Lauren Chapman, Ryan Chapman, Kaitlyn Chapman, Bella Chapman; Former wife, Shirley Chapman, and a host of other relatives and friends.
