William Stanley Jones

WILLIAM STANLEY JONES was born in Columbus, Ohio, on Friday, November 25, 1949. He was the son of James E. Jones, Sr. and Mary V. Jones. “Tojo,” as he was affectionately called by family and friends, received his formal education from Columbus City Schools and was a graduate of Linden McKinley High School, class of 1967. William was a 2010 retiree of Ross Laboratories. He professed the Christian Faith, loved the Lord, and was a lifelong member of Rehoboth Temple Church of Christ. In his leisure, William enjoyed singing in a group with his close friends and family. He loved playing his guitar, tennis, bowling, and golfing. He most enjoyed, however, sitting on his porch, listening to music with neighbors and close friends. Our beloved William S. Jones entered eternal rest on Friday, July 30, 2021. He was seventy-one years of age. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Jones and daughter-in-law, Tish Jones. Celebrating his life and legacy are his son, Dekare Jones; daughters, Michelle (Tyrone) Bays, Adrah Forrest, Valerie (Darrell) Scott, and Kim (Tim) Pearson; sister, Gwen (William) Scales; brothers, Melvin (Kathy) Jones, Harold Jones, Karl (Paige) Jones, and James Jones Jr.; a host of other family members and many friends.
