Willie “Brandon” Ruffin's journey began May 10, 1980 when he was born to Willie and Bertha Ruffin in Columbus, Ohio. He was the youngest of six children. Willie, fondly known as “Brandon,” attended Johnson Park Middle school and went on to play football at Independence High School. Brandon matriculated to ITT Tech, where he earned his Associate degree in Computer Programming. After working numerous jobs, Brandon settled at the Refuge department with the City of Columbus. Brandon was an active and faithful member of the New Seasons Christian Ministries. He enjoyed “FISHING”, cars and spending quality time with loved ones. In June 2004, Brandon met the love of his life and the apple of his eye, Dakia Horsley. On February 16, 2007, Brandon took Dakia’s hand in marriage. On September 4, 2014, at 8:30 p.m., Brandon flew softly away to rest in the arms of God. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie B. Ruffin. He leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life Dakia Horsley-Ruffin; sons, Troy, Tyrel, Jayvon; daughter Jaylnda; granddaughter Jalayah; mother, Bertha Ruffin; brothers, Garland (Diane) Watkins and Reggie (Lisa) Taylor; sisters, Danielle Hairston, Toni Wilson, and Kimberly Loving; mother-in-law, Denise (Charles) Steadman; nephews, Alvin McMorris, Marquis Watkins, Mark Watters, Marquale Watters, MarShaun Watters, Adrian Watkins, Will Watkins, Andre Hairston, Reggie Taylor Jr., Ryan Taylor, Brandon Watkins, Kinte Mitchell, Abdoulaye Diallo, Telon Horsley and Dylan Horsley; nieces, Mercedes McMorris, Nadjaye’ Hawkins, Nadia Cummings and Ta’Nia Wilson (goddaughter).
