Willie Crenshaw, Jr., 80, born August 24, 1931 in Fort Deposit, Alabama, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Mt. Carmel East. He retired from Buckeye Steel after 32 years of service and went on to work 12 years with BPS. Willie was a member of the Masonic Order and the Southfield Community Missionary Baptist Church, where he sang in the male chorus and was a member of the Laymen's Ministry. He enjoyed family gatherings and was an avid gardener, hunter, and fisherman. Willie is preceded in death by parents, Will and Laura Crenshaw, son Willie Joe Crenshaw, and sisters Ruth and Bessie Williamson. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Corine Crenshaw; six children, Brenda (Tommy) Tucker, Harold (Demetra) Crenshaw, Billy (Lisa) Crenshaw, Bobby Crenshaw, Sonya (Michael) Bell, and Timothy (Iretha) Crenshaw; sisters, Hattie Walls, Reba Thwreatt, David (Gwen) Crenshaw, Jewel Thornhill, Lillie Crenshaw, all of Columbus, OH, Nancy (Melvin) Harris, and Betty (Frank) Berry of New York; brother-in-law Donald Williamson; sister-in-law Daisy Poole; 24 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Homegoing Celebration 11 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2011 at Southfield Community Missionary Baptist Church, 1399 Augmont Avenue, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until start of service. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery.
