Willie E. Horton, Jr. was born May 20, 1945 in Pickens, Mississippi, to the union of Willie E. Horton, Sr. and Cornelia Horton. On Wednesday, May 15, 2013, while in Mount Carmel West Hospital, Willie's book of life was closed. God whispered to him to be at rest. Following four years of service in the United States Air Force, Willie married Bessie Marie Brandon on July 6, 1968. To this union, three children were born: Donna, Aaron, and Tiffany. Willie accepted Lord, and was a dutiful member of Meredith Temple Church of God in Christ from 1968 to 2001. During his tenure, he served as Sunday School Teacher, Choir President, and in many other capacities. He retired from the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) after many years of dedicated service. Willie was preceded in death by his wife of thirty years, Bessie, mother, Cornelia, and stepfather, David Redmond. Mourning his death, yet cherishing his life and memory are his children, Aaron (Talya) Horton, Donna (John) Atcherson, and Tiffany Horton; granddaughter Ania Horton; grandson Brandon Horton; uncles, Jeff (Gladys) Baker and Garland (Tot) Baker; aunt Ella Mae Baker; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Andrew (Joyce) Brandon and Robert (Evelyn) Horton; nephews, Eric (Nichole) Brandon and Jonathan (Shirley) Brandon; niece Collette (William) Batchler; godchildren, Elder Myron (Angela) Valentine, Pastor Phillip (Robin) Green, Quentin (Rena) Elliott, Brian (Keisha) Hughey, Pastor Tawana (Eric Sr.) Butler, and Sirree Hawkins; and a host of special grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
