Willie Mae Johnson

Willie Mae {Donald} Johnson, age 82, was born on December 13, 1929. The only daughter of Horace W. Donald and Junetta Berry in New Orleans, Louisiana. Madear was married in Mobile, Alabama to our father, Arthur Lee Johnson Sr. until his death and six children resulted from their longtime union. Madear was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed gardening with our dad. Both were committed to raising their children and providing us a quality lifestyle. We will always remember the family trips to Alabama and the sound of the stereo, playing their favorite songs. Madear was a longtime member of New Zion Baptist Church, and an active member of the Senior Choir until her illness prevented her from participating in church activities. She retired from Children's Hospital after twenty years of service. After a long illness, Madear departed this life and went home to be with the Lord and to see Daddy on Monday, April 23, 2012. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by both parents. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, two daughters, Joyce {Peter} Lindsey and Stephanie Johnson; four sons, Arthur L. {Constance} Johnson Jr., Horace, Michael and DeWayne Johnson; grandchildren Yolanda Gail Moorman, DeMarco (Wendie)Burton, Jeromie, Jaimel Johnson, Darien Gambrell, Marcus (Kendra) Johnson, Brandon {Tanna} Lindsey, Courtney Lindsey, Jahaan Harris, David and Shawn McClain, Damiso {April} Johnson, Michael {LaKisha} Johnson and Jayson Johnson; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; daughters-in-law, Diana and Marcia Johnson; sisters-in-law, Essie, Johnnie Mae and Shirley Johnson, brother-in-law, Emmit Johnson of Mobile, Alabama.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relative along with lifelong friends.
