Willie George (J.R.) Scofield, Jr. was born August 4, 1969, and departed this life on January 4, 2014. Willie (affectionately known as J.R.) passed away peacefully at Kobacker House with devoted family at his side after a battle with cancer. Our beloved son, brother, and father was born the sixth of eight children to the union of the late Willie George Scofield, Sr. and Ethel A. (Holiday) Scofield. J.R. was born in Columbus, Ohio, and was educated in the Columbus Public School system. He attended Hebrew Baptist Church as a child and he has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of his life. He held various job positions but not many people knew that J.R. was a very talented artist; one of his drawings was placed on display at a special art event. He was also an avid lover of shooting pool but his favorite past time was relaxing on his boat and fishing all day. J.R.was preceded in death by his father, Willie George Scofield, Sr., and leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Ethel A. (Holiday) Scofield; fiancé Norma Ballard; three daughters, Shaunte Roseboro, Brieona Scofield, and Sadora Taylor Scofield; one son Trymaen Roseboro, Sr., all of Columbus, Ohio; six sisters, Sarah Jordan, Jean Kendrick, Carolyn Morrow, Diane Scofield, Susan Howell, and Melissa Scofield, all of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Phillip Scofield of Columbus and Randy Scofield of Cedartown, Georgia; ten grandchildren, J-sean, Javon, Shawnta, DeShawna, Jamaree, Ja’Quane, Ja’Quise, Honisty, Trymaen Jr., and Samaj’e, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and special friends.
